The last few months has been quite busy for us, I am glad to say. Our custom orders of doors, windows, carvings and stone has grown steadily, and we are focusing more than ever on this market. The land rush in Kona and the rise in prices has left contractors and their customers anxiously re figuring their numbers. The buyer want a custom home, different than all the ones the developers are putting up 50 at a time. Having spent much more for the lot than they planned, they are now searching for ways to add value to their project within a tight budget. To keep up with the demand for our products, we have just relocated to a brand new, huge 6,000 sq. ft. showroom in Kaloko. Located on the north mauka corner across from Costco, the showroom is now stuffed with a great new collection from our last trips to China and Java. We are still creating displays but the stone pots, water features, carved doors and gazebo on display create a realistic environment to see and feel the character of the unique pieces we have. In line with the current trends toward using natural materials for storage solutions, we have expanded our line of boxes, baskets and cases for homes and offices. Using lauhala, coconut twigs sea grasses and water hyacinth, we have developed a great assortment of exotic practical storage containers. We even have a line of dressers and end tables using these same natural materials. These are all hand woven in the villages in Java, so the quantities we get are limited. So far, the market has received this line quite great and we will try to keep thee in stock as best we can.
